Carpet Technologies Rug Service is an in-plant specialty area rug cleaning Spa. We specialize in cleaning oriental rugs, specialty and hand woven rugs originating from Morocco to Eastern China, weaving’s from the West and machine woven rugs such as Karastan. Our focus is on detail and providing you with the personal attention to your rugs that we believe you as a client both want and deserve.

Area rugs are often made of wool. Some are even made of silk, cotton, rayon, and other specialty fabrics. These fibers are easily ruined if not cleaned properly, so don’t trust just any cleaner with your oriental rugs.

In our years of service, we have handled textiles weaved in various parts of the world, from Turkey and Morocco to Portugal and Spain, as well as the many countries in between. Our certified rug specialists treat each rug with special attention and the cleaning process is customized for each particular type of area rug, whether natural or synthetic, such as wool, cotton, jute, silk, sisal, polyester, nylon, acrylic, and more.

Our Process:

  • Thorough pre- inspection: to determine color fastness, fiber type and condition.
  • Mechanical Dusting: to remove all the dry soil.
  • Wash: hand wash process. This method of rug washing is the most thorough and the safest way to clean hand woven, oriental and other specialty rugs.
  • Rinsing: a flushing tool is massaged over the rug with fresh water to rinse out the shampoo and soils.
  • Odor Treatment: Rugs with odor problems are soaked in immersion cleaning bath with deodorizer to remove pet odors, stale odors.
  • Speed Dry: climate controlled air is used to circulate on both the front and back. Dehumidifiers, heat and air circulating fans are used to enhance drying.
  • Fringe Detail: fringe is then addressed and hand-washed.
  • Final inspection: a thorough inspection is performed to insure the area rug looks and feels its best. If not then we will reclean until your rug is thoroughly clean.
